1. What is the preferred Browser for Biddingo?

It is recommended that you use Google Chrome. The latest versions Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer / Microsoft Edge, and Safari also work for accessing bid information, but we feel that Google Chrome provides the best experience. For eBidding response submissions, we highly recommend Google Chrome.

2. How do I update the information on my vendor application form if the person who initially registered has left the company?

If the person who registered the vendor application form initially left the company, Biddingo.com can update the account and provide another user with a new account (ID and Password) to update the vendor information.

3. Why can’t I read emails sent by Biddingo.com?

Previously, Biddingo.com delivered email bid notices and bid alerts with HTML formatting. As this is not yet a truly universal format, we have since revised our email delivery options to include text formats.

If your computer is not HTML compatible, you may still have difficulty reading the emails, or the layout may look less than perfect. This may occur when embedded forms or advanced HTML techniques are used, which leads to improperly displayed messages, missing graphics or broken codes. As a result, Biddingo has created two versions (text and HTML) of our emails to provide recipients with a choice. If you want to modify which version you receive as your email communications from Biddingo.com, go to the MyProfile page, and select your preferred option.

4. The message “The Internet service certificate is not trusted” occurred. How does the keyword search function work?

This issue has been addressed in Notes 6.0.5 and 6.5.4.

To resolve the issue:

  1. Change the current location document to Notes and Retrieve open pages from Notes Workstation.
  2. Open the page source for the memo again, and click on the HTTPS tag. You will receive the warning: "The Internet service certificate is not trusted - do you want to take corrective action?"
  3. Click Yes and continue through to retrieve the Internet service certificate and then to cross-certify that document.

An alternate method is to set the "Accept SSL site certificates" to "Yes" in the location document. This field can be found on the advanced tab, on the SSL sub-tab in the location document.

5. How does the keyword search function work?

Your selected keywords are mapped to words used in bid scope, bid description, organization name, and bid number. The result is a bid list that matches the combinations of keywords (categories, location criteria, telephone, area code, organization, and keyword). Most text searching systems use inverted indices, which map each word found in any bids to a list of the bids in which the word appears.

Searching for a single keyword consists of looking up the keyword’s mapping in the index to reveal all of the bids containing that keyword.

But, when you type in bid categories, location criteria, telephone, area code, organization, and a keyword, an “AND” Boolean searching is conducted.

An “AND” search consists of looking up the sets for each keyword and returning the intersection. As with our search engines, we return a small subset of the matching bids.

Therefore, the data of intersection for search criteria includes bid categories, location criteria, telephone area code, organization, and keyword as shown.

6. I downloaded documents from your web site, but cannot open the files. They are in a .dbf format. Can you please advise me how to look at these documents?

Documents with a .dbf extension were generated with the PWMS application software by municipalities that post documents on Biddingo.

If you want to open the downloaded file (the Form of Tender), you need to obtain a copy of the CBS software. Contractors enter bid prices on the Form of Tender using CBS for electronic tendering.

Please click the following link if you want to purchase the CBS software.

9. Why do I get an invalid or error message when Logging In?

Remember that your password is case sensitive. If you have entered your password in lower case when you registered, it will remain in lower case. If it was entered in upper case when you registered, if will remain in upper case (capital letters).

Check to be sure that you have not left out a character when you entered the user ID and password. For most users, the ID is their email address.

Suggestion: If you are still having difficulties logging in, try refreshing the screen or closing the browser, completely. Repeat the process of entering your user-id and password.

If you are still unable to login to Biddingo.com, please contact our office.

10. Why did I miss an email notification?

Loss of email notifications can happen for several reasons:

  1. The ISP or Mail server of the user or provider (Biddingo) may be congested. This causes the mail server to relay the message. This can occur even though a user receive email from other people.
  2. Spam filtering software on a user’s machine, a user’s host, the provider's server between the user’s host and/or a user’s ISP may be holding or deleting Biddingo's bid notice alerts, or may be experiencing technical difficulties. To ensure your daily bid alert and bid notice emails are being received, please disable or turn off ALL spam filtering software. If this does not resolve the issue, contact Biddingo.
  3. A user’s email software is not downloading the e-mail, or e-mail handling rules configured within a user’s software are set to not download certain mail, or to move it to another location like the “Junk email” folder. To ensure your daily bid alert and bid notice emails are being received, disable all e-mail handling rules and ensure that your email software is functioning correctly. Also, be sure to regularly check your Junk E-mail foldrer, as unread messages are often filtered to this location.
